This Week's Goals (Thanksgiving Week) & Recap

Here is a picture of Sarah Beth wearing her helmet
on a recent vacation in Florida this month.
She had to wear it 23 hours a day and it was tough!

Last Week's Goals & Recap

Marriage, Mothering, and Family:

1) Continued faithfulness with Sarah's physical therapy and helmet.  (She has torticollis and plagiocephaly.). We are overjoyed that Sarah learned to crawl in the last month but she still needs to work on strengthening her neck muscles.  One of my least favorite exercises is tilting her to the side and holding her in that position.  She also hates it but it is really important.  OUR GIRL GOT HER HELMET OFF!!!!!  We are over the moon thrilled.  She still has torticollis and we will need to continue therapy for the time being.

2) Begin a new read-aloud with Eli & Eva.  I would love to read a sweet Christmas book together this year.  Anyone have a suggestion for me?    We read 1/2 of The Family Under the Bridge.

3) Enjoy an at home date night with my husband.

Homemaking

4)  Cook 19 meals at home this week.  Phew.

5) Declutter my clothing and our master bedroom walk in closet.  Well I did make some effort but I wouldn't call this goal completed.

Personal

6) Spend 2 hours working on a new sewing project.  No I did not make time for this goal but I did read a couple of books this past week.

7). Visit the allergist twice this week for allergy shots.  I have really been letting these slide and I don't need to do that.  I actually made it three times!

8) Read a book.  I read The Right Kind of Strong by Mary Kassian and it was fabulous!

Ministry & Friendships

9.  Take Ms. G to church with us on Sunday.  If we have some extra time this week I would love to drop by and check on her.  We opted to stay home from church on Sunday.

10.  Catch up with 2 friends this week.  My goodness I am so thankful for good friends.

This Week's Goals

Marriage, Mothering, and Family:

1) Spend a wonderful Thanksgiving day together.  It is also my goal to make this a day of rest as much as possible.

2)  Meet with my husband to discuss our Christmas plans and expectations.  We have already had part 1 of this conversation and it is one of the best things we do every year before the Holiday season.  It really does help us to be more intentional.

3) Take my daughters hiking at a local park.

Homemaking

4) Cook a whole turkey and freeze the leftovers in 2-3 cup servings.  I absolutely love having cooked turkey in the freezer.

5) Declutter my clothing and our master bedroom walk in closet. I'm really a pull everything out and throw it on the bed and then put it all back kind of girl.  I'm not planning on Black Friday shopping this year so I plan to use Friday to work on this goal.

Personal

6) Spend at least 1 hour working on sewing projects.  I think I have so many things on my to be sewn list that I just can't make a decision.  Perhaps I will start with something simple.

7). Visit the allergist twice this week for allergy shots.

8) Teach piano lessons and tutor my Biology student.  Spend 30 minutes working on lesson plans.

Ministry & Friendships

9.  Catch up with a friend on the phone this week.

10.  Introduce ourselves to our new neighbors.

What goals do you have for this week?

None Like Him: 10 Ways God is Different From Us by Jen Wilkin :  I'm quickly becoming quite the fan of Mrs. Jen Wilkin.  I've been working through her 1 Peter Bible Study this summer and I absolutely loved reading through this book on the attributes of God.  I found myself reminded of so many things and almost felt a sense of relief as I contemplated what God is like.  This book was a delight to read.  I love that there is now a book on God's attributes written especially for women.  Pure awesomeness!  I highly recommend this book for both new believers and those with years of experience.  I also think it would make a great book club book. The Power of a Praying Wife by Stormie Omartian: This book is one that I have been wanting to read for years and I just never got around to it.  I am so glad that I finally took the time to read and pray through this book!  What better gift could I give my husband the past month than to spend time earnestly praying for him through a

Our First Tent Camping Experience

Earlier in June we embarked on a new adventure.  TENT CAMPING!   Two summers ago we enjoyed a wonderful time camping in a borrowed pop-up camper but this was our first experience sleeping in a tent as a family.  We loaded up our very full van and headed to Land Between the Lakes in Western Kentucky for a new adventure.  It was wonderful.   One of the neatest aspects of our trip was the fact that Nina & Poppy Steve (Brandon's parents) were able to meet up with us!  (They live a good 10 hours away from us so this was a real treat.)  We had so much spending time with them.  We stayed at  Hillman Ferry Campground  and I would definitely stay there again.   Hillman Ferry Campground has a lovely beach with an area roped off for swimming.  The kids enjoyed playing in the sand and I even took them swimming in the lake.  I have been swimming many times in a lake but I think this was my children's first real time swimming in a lake.  (The closest lake to us no longer

This Week's Goals

We have been so blessed to fill our August with such fun family memories. In the picture above we enjoyed a day trip to the Columbus Zoo where we got to get up close with some kangaroos!   August has been so busy for our family that I've neglected to share my goals the past few weeks.  We've been squeezing in lots of summer fun as we transition back to school days.  I also began teaching fall piano lessons.  Here are a few of my goals for this upcoming week.      This Week's Goals Marriage, Mothering, & Family 1.  Eli is playing flag football this fall!  I'm excited to attend his game on Saturday. 2.  Eva has a therapy appointment this week.  I am so thankful for all of the incredible progress that she has made over the past year.   3.  Take both children to the park to play this week.   Homemaking 4.  Work on plans for Disney.  I need to work on our packing list and make some reservations.  I also need to purchase a number of items before we lea
